SEFDEY Conference

It was a pleasure attending the SEFDEY Conference and engaging in a room of knowledge and inspiration.  2023 marked 20 years of the programme that has been an opening door too many in achieving their inspirations and having a degree.  Me being one of them.  My passion in early years and childhood led me to this course of which today I am most grateful in leading me to what I have become today.  With a growth mindset, not only did I achieve the foundation degree but carried on through the academic journey whilst continuing to work in a corporate sector and taking a position of a lecturer. This enabled me to share my knowledge and passion, to see others achieve their academic ambitions that they may have not been able to do before whilst progressing their career aspirations.  I feel immensely proud to see people flourish but also be able to celebrate their achievements together.With this, I continue to learn with the team of researchers, colleagues, students, individual and friends whilst understanding the complexities of education, social care and health relating to children, their families, practice and society as a whole.           

Moving forward, I do not plan to stop but carry on to explore this journey as learning is lifelong.  On this note, I also strongly advice that if you have any inspirations, please follow them.  There is no better time then now.  It will be hard but it will be possible.  Believe in yourself, with no expectations to start but take each step, each day as it comes and move yourself forward in life.
